Chairperson:
The Chairperson is designated by the Governor and serves as the administrative head of the BPT. The Chairperson also serves as one of the nine commissioners. The Chairperson works closely with the executive officer on the day-to-day management of the BPT and reports directly to the Secretary of the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency (YACA). The Chairperson also has the authority to approve a foreign citizen prisoner to transfer to his/her home country to serve the remainder of the sentence.
