Deputy Commissioners:

There are approximately 65 Deputy Commissioner (DC) positions at BPT and are all civil service appointments.  DCs serve as the sole hearing officer for parole revocation and revocation extension hearings.  They conduct documentation hearings and multi-year denial reviews for life prisoners.  They also decide administrative appeals, conduct SVP hearings, and conduct MDO hearings.  The DCs also serve as one of the two panel members during life parole consideration hearings.
