I. HEARINGS
BPT SHALL:
-
Make accommodations available & provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services necessary for effective communication.

Provide auxiliary aids and services that include, but not be limited to, sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices, readers & people trained to assist.

Provide accommodations, which may include attorneys.
-
Ensure that attorneys provided as accommodation are trained appropriately.

Hold parole revocation hearings w/in 50 miles of alleged violation at ADA accessible location.

Ensure that hearing impaired who need sign language interpreters shall not have their hands & arms restrained during the hearing, unless a written determination is made on a case-by-case basis that the prisoner/parolee poses a a direct threat if unrestrained. Only BPT Chairman or Delegate May Approve Hand/Arm Restraint.

Ensure the prisoners shall be provided with accommodations in preparing/developing parole plans, Central file review, psychological interviews, and obtaining letters of support.
