LEARNING DISORDERS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:

A learning disability is a cognitive disorder that affects the ability of persons with normal intellect to learn academic and social information. These include:

  • perceptual disabilities, 

  • minimal brain dysfunction, 

  • dyslexia, and 

  • developmental aphasia

Under BPT policy, inmates/parolees with a Grade Placement Level (GPL) and/or Test of Adult Basic (TABE) of fourth grade level or lower (4.0 or below), whether or not they have a qualified disability, shall be considered for special accommodations in parole proceedings.
