Safety Courses
The purpose of this course is to prepare individuals to respond to aviation incidents. This is an introductory course designed for all personnel. It is NOT intended to train people to be air marshals or other security personnel. Topics include knowing the threats, planning for your trip, arriving at the airport, waiting to board, flying and reacting to a hijacking. Training material has been drawn from open government sources such as the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Transportation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Course length: 60 minutes
Alcohol, Drugs and the Workplace
This course familiarizes employees with the dangers of alcohol and drugs, the cost and work impact of alcohol and drugs, myths, Department of Transportation Drug-Free Workplace Regulations, DUI/DWI and other state laws, the elements of a successful substance abuse program, and substance abuse prevention. Course length: 60 minutes.
This course trains to the OSHA Asbestos Standard 1910.12(b) and covers asbestos exposure in all work as defined by the standard. This course discuss the health effects associated with asbestos exposure, the relationship between smoking and exposure to asbestos producing lung cancer. It covers the engineering controls and work practices associated with the employee's job assignment. The course covers the specific procedures implemented to protect employees from exposure to asbestos, such as appropriate work practices, emergency and clean-up procedures, and personal protective equipment to be used.
The course discuses the purpose, proper use, and limitations of respirators and protective clothing. It discusses the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program. The requirements for posting signs and affixing labels and the meaning of the required legends for such signs and labels are also covered in this course. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 60 minutes.
Biological, Chemical and Radiological Terrorist Threat Protection
This course teaches how to best recognize and protect against biological, chemical and radiological threats. It also discusses what to do in the event of an exposure to these threats. Source material has been drawn from open government sources such as the U.S. Center for Disease Control and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Course length: 60 minutes.
This course conforms to training required by the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard 1910.1030. It includes the 14 training criteria of the Standard including a copy and explanation of the Standard, epidemiology and symptoms, modes of transportation, employer's exposure control plan, risk identification, method of compliance, decontamination and disposal, personal protective equipment, hepatitis B vaccination, emergency actions, exposure incidents, post-exposure evaluation and follow-up, signs and labels, and interactive questions. An OSHA online video is available for viewing for additional instruction. There is a telephone "hot line" to a registered nurse for questions concerning this course. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 90 minutes.
The purpose of this course is to prepare individuals to respond to bomb incidents. This is an introductory course designed for all personnel. It is NOT intended to train people to defuse suspected bombs. This course was developed using open source material from U.S. law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. This course teaches how to recognize bombs, how to prepare for bomb incidents, how to prevent bomb incidents, how to respond to bomb threats, how to decide what to do, evacuating the area, how to search for a bomb, and how to handle the media. Course length: 60 minutes.
Energy Control - Lockout/Tagout
This course conforms to training
required by the OSHA Lockout/Tagout Standard 1910.147. The
training covers requirements for "authorized", "affected", and "other" employees.
The training of authorized employees includes: Recognition of hazardous energy; Type and magnitude of energy found in the workplace;
the means and methods of isolating and/or controlling energy; and the means of verification of effective energy control, and the purpose of the procedures to be used.
The course discusses why affected employees are required to know the purpose and use of the energy control procedures.
It covers the requirements of other employees who may be affected by the energy control procedures
and instructs them about the procedures and the prohibitions relating to attempts to restart or reenergize such machines or equipment.
The training discusses the employer's procedures permit the use of tagout. It
concludes with methodology of how to evaluate the employer's manner of enforcing
the lockout/tagout program. A
post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of
completion and a wallet laminated completion card.

This course discuses the OSHA Ergonomics guidelines. It teaches the student to recognize musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) signs and symptoms. The course discusses how to report MSD signs and symptoms, and the importance of early reporting. It covers the MSD hazards in offices and the measures students can follow to protect themselves from exposure to MSD hazards. It outlines the elements of a successful ergonomics program and the employees role in it. Course length: 60 minutes.
This course discuses Food handling safety. It discusses food borne illnesses, methods of food protection, sources of food contamination, proper washing and storage methods, pest control and general sanitation. Information is drawn from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 300 minutes.
Hazard Communication - Right-To-Know
This course conforms to training required by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 1910.120. The training includes a copy of and an explanation of the Hazard Communication Standard. It contains methods and observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical in the work area (such as monitoring conducted by the employer, continuous monitoring devices, visual appearance or odor of hazardous chemicals when being released, etc.); the physical and health hazards of the chemicals in the work area; the measures employees can take to protect themselves from these hazards, including specific procedures the employer has implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment to be used. It describes labeling requirements and material safety data sheets and how employees can obtain and use the appropriate hazard information. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 120 minutes.
Hearing Conservation and Noise Exposure
This course conforms to training required by the OSHA Occupational Noise Exposure Standard 1910.95. It covers the effects of noise on hearing; the purpose of the differences between different types hearing protectors; the purpose of audiometric testing and an explanation of the test procedures. The course also covers the causes of hearing loss, the difference between temporary and permanent hearing loss, and the elements of a successful hearing conservation program. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 90 minutes.
This course conforms to training required by the OSHA Personal Protective Equipment General Requirements Standard 1910.132. The training addresses who is required by this section to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); when PPE is necessary; what PPE is necessary; how to properly don, doff, adjust, and wear PPE; the imitations of the PPE; and the proper care, maintenance, useful life and disposal of the PPE. A post test includes 50 questions and all graduates receive a certificate of completion and a wallet laminated completion card. Course length: 90 minutes.
This course follows OSHA guidelines on reproductive hazards. It covers chemical reproductive hazards, routes of entry, exposure limits, counseling and occupational medical evaluations. Course length: 60 minutes.
